Research Databases
The following databases are available for use by the HSSS community. You need a password to access each of the databases if you are not on campus. Password sheets may be picked up at the library.
EBSCO DATABASES:
Academic Search Premier (EBSCO)
Articles from scholarly journals in nearly every academic discipline. Excellent for student and researchers. Auto Repair Source (EBSCO)
Auto Repair Source provides service information optimized for the most common maintenance and repair operations. Technical service bulletins and recall notices. Component location diagrams for most domestic and imported cars and light trucks. Precise and comprehensive wiring diagrams for all systems. Canadian Points of View Reference Centre(EBSCO)
Contains a series of essays that present multiple sides of a current issue. Topics covered include: environment, health, human rights, crime, race, technology, substance abuse, and many more. Exploring Race in Society (EBSCO)
Specifically designed for high school and undergraduate students, the database provides context and solutions-oriented points of view within a scholarly collection of content on topics related to race, ethnicity, diversity and inclusiveness.
Novelist Plus (EBSCO)
Find fiction by subject, or read reviews and summaries. Includes book discussion guides, author read-alikes. Science Reference Center (EBSCO)
Science Reference Center provides full text for hundreds of science magazines, journals, reference books and high-quality videos. The database also contains science experiments, curriculum-aligned lesson plans, and a vast image collection. GALE DATABASES:
Global Issues in Context (Gale)
Global Issues in Context offers international viewpoints on a broad spectrum of global issues, topics, and current events. This database supports research in virtually every corner of the library and in a wide variety of subject areas, including sociology, current events, civics, politics, science, economics, cultural/religious studies, women’s studies, human rights, English composition and many more.

World Book Encyclopedia
The World Book Web is a suite of online research tools that includes encyclopedia articles, primary source collections, educator tools, student activities, pictures, audio, and video, complemented by current periodicals and related Web sites. Explora Educator's Edition (EBSCO)
Includes full text for 520 education journals including: Booklist, Education, Educational Leadership, High School Journal, Journal of Education, Journal of Educational Research, Reading Teacher, School Library Journal, and many others. Contains 230 educational reports. |
